According to the EN ISO 544 standards, the maximum diameter tolerance of the wire for metal shielding gas welding is set at +0.01/-0.04 mm. These limits being fully used would lead to an alteration of more than 8 % of the cross section of the wire. In the welding process this means the speed of the wire feeder has to be corrected with up to 8 % to keep the same processing properties.
Mig Weld keeps tolerances steadily around +0.0/-0.02 mm thus limiting the highest wire feed speed deviation to 3.31 %.
